Job Overview
As a Sales Representative, you will be responsible for driving new business growth in the Distribution market for the Port Elizabeth region. Your primary goal will be to meet monthly and annual new business targets by prospecting, building client relationships, and delivering innovative solutions that add value to customers’ supply chains.
Key Responsibilities

New Business Development: Prospect and secure new clients in the Distribution market, maintaining a robust pipeline of qualified leads that convert into sustainable, billing clients.

Sales Targets: Achieve monthly and annual new business targets set by the Regional Sales Manager.

Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure long-term partnerships.

Reporting: Provide weekly sales activity reports and monthly billing/financial updates to the Regional Sales Manager.

Tender Management: Assist in preparing and presenting tenders/proposals to secure new business.

Cross-Silo Solutions: Identify and promote integrated solutions across DSV’s service offerings, collaborating with other department heads.

Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate client data, update the internal CRM system, and ensure compliance with DSV’s Quality Management System.

Competitor Analysis: Conduct industry and competitor analysis to stay ahead of market trends.

Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior New Business Sales Executives.

Client Engagement: Meet the expected client call ratio KPI and represent the DSV brand professionally.

Debtors Management: Ensure debtors’ days for signed clients align with company requirements.

Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as requested by management to support business objectives.
Requirements
To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

Education: Matric certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent.

Experience:
-
1–2 years of new business sales experience in the transport and logistics industry.

Proven track record of prospecting and achieving new business targets.
-
Experience in tender management and selling cross-silo solutions.
-
Experience developing and managing a qualified new business pipeline.

Skills and Attributes:

Intermediate proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Strong administrative skills with high attention to detail.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
