POST 02/258: SECURITY OFFICER
SALARY:
R155,148 per annum
CENTRE:
Tygerberg Hospital, Parow Valley
REQUIREMENTS
Educational Qualification:
- Minimum General Education and Training Certificate (GETC) or Grade 9 (Std. 7).
Registration with a Professional Council:
- Registered with the Security Board in terms of the Security Industry Regulatory Authority Act (Act 56 of 2001) as a Grade C Security Officer (PSIRA).
Inherent Requirements:
- Willingness to work shifts, including being available on a 24-hour basis.
- Ability to handle pressure and irregular working hours as needed.
Competencies (Knowledge/Skills):
- Strong communication skills.
- Computer literacy (MS Office).
- Knowledge of relevant regulations, prescripts, and procedures.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Responsible and diligent work ethic.
DUTIES
- Building and Premises Security:
- Guard and protect buildings, key points, patients, visitors, and personnel.
- Patrol fences, buildings, and hospital premises.
- Access Control:
- Manage access and egress points to prevent unlawful entry or removal of persons, vehicles, dangerous objects, or illegal substances.
- Monitor surveillance cameras and fire alarm systems.
- Surveillance Monitoring:
- Use surveillance cameras to identify and prevent suspicious activities, vehicle thefts, and unlawful entries.
- Service Delivery Support:
- Provide efficient support to supervisors and ensure excellent service delivery.
- Equipment Utilization:
- Use security equipment effectively to deliver high-quality services.
- Compliance Inspections:
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with contract management protocols.
