1. Higher Certificate in Nursing (1 Year)

• Qualification: Register as an Auxiliary Nurse with SANC (GN R.169).

Eligibility Criteria

General Requirements

• South African citizen (foreign applicants may apply with SAQA-evaluated qualifications).

• Valid Grade 12 certificate (NQF Level 4) with admission to higher certificate or diploma studies.

Higher Certificate in Nursing

• Academic Requirements:

    • Mathematics: NQF Level 4 (minimum 40%) or Mathematical Literacy (minimum 50%).

    • Life Sciences or Physical Science: HG symbol D or SG symbol C (recommended).

• RPL Applicants:

  • Valid Grade 12 with an average of 50% or old senior certificate (D-aggregate, 950 marks).

  • Healthcare-related experience and a motivational letter from an employer (if applicable).

Diploma in Emergency Medical Care

• Academic Requirements:

  • National Senior Certificate with diploma endorsement or old senior certificate (D-aggregate, 950 marks).

  • Compulsory subjects:

    • Physical Science: NQF Level 4 (minimum 40%).

    • Mathematics: NQF Level 4 (minimum 40%).

    • English: NQF Level 4 (minimum 40%).

• RPL Applicants:

  • Grade 12 with an average of 50% or 950 marks (old certificate).

  • Age 25 or older, registered as an Ambulance Emergency Assistant (AEA) with HPCSA, with 5 years of operational EMS experience and current EMS employment.
