About the Learnership Programme

The Learnership 18.2 Learner Official Mining programme is a structured development initiative aimed at equipping learners with the technical knowledge, practical skills, and safety awareness required to become competent mining officials. You will complete all modules within the specified timeframe while working under supervision in a real mining environment.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 with Mathematics (not Mathematical Literacy) and English (essential).
  • Medically fit to work in the specific mining business area.
  • Clear security screening record.
  • Valid driver’s licence (if applicable).
  • Relevant experience in a mining or related environment will be an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

As a Learner Official Mining, you will be expected to:

Programme Objectives

  • Understand and commit to the objectives of the learnership programme.
  • Successfully complete all learning modules within the given timeframe.
  • Escalate any queries or concerns timeously.
  • Strictly adhere to all company policies and procedures.

Safety, Health & Environment (SHE)

  • Comply with all legal and safety requirements at all times.
  • Work according to required standards and training received.
  • Attend SHE meetings as required.
  • Always use prescribed safety equipment.
  • Identify hazardous situations and participate in on-the-job risk assessments.

Reporting & Development

  • Compile and submit developmental progress reports.
  • Report all inconsistencies, obstacles, ideas, and recommendations to relevant stakeholders.

Pre-screening and psychometric evaluations may form part of the selection process. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a panel interview.
