Are you a young South African with an NCV Level 4 qualification in Safety in Society? The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) offers an exciting 12-month Work Integrated Learning Programme for TVET graduates aged 18–35. What is the IPID TVET Placement Programme?

The IPID is an equal opportunity employer offering work experience to unemployed TVET graduates who have not previously participated in similar programmes. This initiative supports South Africa’s youth by providing practical exposure in the field of Safety in Society. Successful candidates will work in various IPID offices across South Africa, contributing to the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) unit or Corporate Services Directorate.

Programme Details

  • Duration: 12 months (2025–2026)

  • Stipend: R4,000 per month

  • Positions Available: 10 posts across National and Provincial Offices

  • Qualification Required: NCV Level 4 in Safety in Society

  • Age Limit: 18–35 years at the start of the placement

Who Can Apply?

To qualify for the IPID TVET Placement Programme, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Hold an NCV Level 4 qualification in Safety in Society.

  • Be a South African citizen or permanent resident aged 18–35.

  • Have no prior participation in a similar work integrated learning programme (an affidavit confirming this will be required).

  • Be unemployed and have no previous work experience related to your qualification.

  • Non-South African citizens must provide an evaluation certificate from the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) if shortlisted.

How to Apply

Follow these steps to submit your application:

  1. Download the New Z83 Form: Obtain the latest Z83 application form from www.gov.za/documents or any Public Service Department. Applications using the old Z83 form will be disqualified.

  2. Complete the Z83 Form: Fill in Sections A, B, C, and D (compulsory). Answer the question in Part F about conditions preventing re-appointment. Sections E, F, and G are optional if a CV is attached. Sign and initial the form.

  3. Prepare a Detailed CV: Include your qualifications, personal details, and any relevant information.

  4. Submit Your Application: Send your Z83 form and CV to the correct IPID office based on your province of residence. Use the email or physical address listed below. Include the post name and reference number in the email subject line or on your application.

  5. Application Deadline: 23 May 2025. Late applications will not be considered.

Important Notes

  • No Document Copies Required Initially: Only shortlisted candidates need to submit certified copies of qualifications and ID on or before the interview date.

  • Security and Vetting: Successful candidates will undergo security clearance, qualification verification, and checks for criminal records, citizenship, and credit history.

  • Conflict of Interest: Declare any affiliations with boards or directorships.

  • Communication: Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. If you don’t hear back within three weeks after the closing date, your application was unsuccessful.
