Purpose of the Position

The primary purpose of this position is to protect life, property, and the environment by responding to fire and emergency situations within Transnet facilities.

The Fire Fighter will also be responsible for:

Key Responsibilities

The Fire Fighter will perform a wide range of operational and safety duties, including the following:

1. Maintain Operational Readiness

The firefighter must ensure that all emergency equipment and response systems are always ready for immediate use. This includes:

  • Regular inspection of fire engines and equipment

  • Maintaining fire detection and suppression systems

  • Testing sprinkler systems and alarms

  • Ensuring emergency vehicles and tools are operational

2. Fire Emergency Response
