REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: Grade 10 / ABET / AET or equivalent qualification as recognised by SAQA.
  • Skills and Competencies:
    • Basic literacy and numeracy.
    • Ability to read and write.
    • Communication skills.
    • Good interpersonal relations.
    • Knowledge of Batho Pele Principles.
    • Farm work experience and knowledge of various types of farm activities will be an added advantage.

DUTIES:

  • Apply chemical crop protection.
  • Soil cultivation and preparation.
  • Irrigation of crops.
  • Care for sick livestock, including dipping, vaccination, and dosing.
  • Count livestock daily.
  • Tend to crops/orchards/vineyards.
  • Clean facilities and dispose of farm waste materials.
  • Firefighting and prevention.
  • Maintain windmills and water supply systems.

NOTE:

  • Applications should be submitted on the prescribed 2021 Z83 form obtainable from all Government Departments or can be downloaded from www.gov.za.
  • Use the most recent Z83 application for employment form as issued by the Minister for the Public Service and Administration in line with Regulation 10 of the Public Service Regulation, 2016. Failure to do so will result in disqualification.
