Job Overview

As a Parts Storeman/Driver at Halfway Toyota Fourways, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation of our parts department. This permanent position combines responsibilities in inventory management, stock control, and driving to support the dealership’s daily operations. You’ll maintain accurate stock records, ensure timely delivery of parts, and uphold the high standards that define the Halfway Toyota brand.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

• Inventory Management: Ensure the bin location system is 100% complete and accurate at all times, maintaining precise organization of parts.

• Stock Control: Conduct daily perpetual stock checks to ensure 100% accuracy and complete the monthly check cycle efficiently.

• Parts Stocking: Manage the daily stocking of automotive parts, ensuring shelves are organized and fully stocked to meet demand.

• Driving Duties: Safely transport parts and related items to designated locations, adhering to schedules and traffic regulations.

• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of stock movements, deliveries, and inventory levels in compliance with dealership procedures.

• Team Collaboration: Work closely with the parts department team to support operational needs and ensure seamless workflows.

• Customer Service: Represent Halfway Toyota professionally during deliveries and interactions with clients or suppliers.

• General Duties: Perform additional tasks as assigned by management to support the dealership’s operations.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Education: Grade 12 (Matric) certificate or equivalent.

• Experience: 4–5 years of experience in an automotive parts department, with a strong understanding of parts inventory management.

• Licenses: Valid driver’s license (Code 8 or higher).

• Skills and Knowledge:

  • Proficiency in inventory management systems and stock control processes.

  • Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.

  • Ability to perform accurate and timely stock checks.

  • Basic understanding of automotive parts and their applications.

• Electives:

  • Completion of a parts reborn programme or similar training is advantageous.

  • Familiarity with dealership management systems is a plus.
