The Department of Basic Education is seeking 30 motivated Data Capturers to join the Basic Education Employment Initiative in Zwelitsha. Key Responsibilities

As a Data Capturer, you will play a critical role in managing and maintaining accurate data to support the initiative’s objectives. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Data Entry: Accurately capture data from records into required formats, such as databases, tables, and spreadsheets.

  • Data Verification: Identify and resolve missing data or errors during the data entry process to ensure accuracy.

  • Data Validation: Review and validate data to maintain high-quality records.

  • Data Submission: Submit completed data sets as per departmental requirements.

  • Data Backup: Perform regular backups to safeguard information.

  • Record Management: Update registers and statistics, maintain organized records, and ensure files are securely stored.

  • Information Sharing: Provide data and information to relevant components within the department.

Requirements

To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Education: Grade 12 certificate or equivalent (no prior experience required).

  • Knowledge: Familiarity with departmental policies, including Provincial Directives, DPSA Policies, DBE Circulars, and National/Provincial Circulars.

  • Skills:

    • Proficiency in computer literacy and data management tools.

    • Strong organizational and analytical skills.

    • Effective communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    • Basic written communication and presentation skills.

    • Knowledge of operational, financial, and project management is an advantage.
