CORE PURPOSE OF JOB: To provide cleaning services to the university community, ensuring a clean and hygienic environment in academic and support areas.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

• Cleaning of university buildings, corridors, and public/outdoor spaces.
• General and deep cleaning of floors, surfaces, and ablution facilities.
• Cleaning of offices, classrooms, residences, staff rooms, libraries, labs, conference rooms, kitchens, and outdoor areas.
• Occupational health and safety compliance.
• Collection and accountability of cleaning consumables and equipment.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Grade 8 – 12
• 0 – 12 months experience in a cleaning position
• Knowledge of cleaning procedures, methods, and equipment
• Interpersonal and communication skills
• Planning and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and in teams
• Physically fit
• Customer focus, flexibility, literacy skills, punctuality, and accountability

ADDITIONAL COMPETENCIES:

• Caring attitude and good customer service skills
• Initiative and teamwork
• Ability to work under pressure and during university vacation, after hours, and public holidays
