Location: Karl Bremer Hospital, Chief Directorate: Metro Health Services, South Africa
Salary: Grade 1: R183 279 per annum

Requirements:

Minimum Qualification: General Education and Training Certificate (GETC)/ Grade 9 (Std. 7) or equivalent.
Experience: Relevant experience in a large-scale food service unit.
Inherent Requirements:
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods.
Skills:
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to work well in a team and under pressure.
- Knowledge of HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) and hygiene standards.
- Familiarity with the National Guidelines for safe preparation, storage, and handling of powdered infant formula.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervision:
- Oversee general hygiene in the food service unit and milk kitchen.
- Implement standard menus, production planning, and stock control.
- Supervise the preparation and distribution of milk feeds to wards.
- Ensure proper temperature control during food and formula preparation processes.
Safety and Security:
- Implement safety measures for meal preparation and equipment use.
- Maintain security protocols to limit stock loss and equipment misuse.
Administrative Duties:
- Assist the Food Service Manager with HR-related tasks, such as duty rosters, staff orientation, and performance appraisals.
