Position Purpose

The Cleaner is responsible for ensuring a clean, safe, and organized building environment by performing tasks like vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting, and emptying trash. Additional duties include assisting service personnel when required.

Essential Functions and Duties

1. Cleaning Responsibilities
   • Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors.
   • Dust and wash walls, tables, doors, light fixtures, and windows.
   • Disinfect toilets, urinals, showers, and other fixtures.
   • Refill soap, toilet paper, and towel dispensers.
   • Empty trash containers and maintain cleanliness of waste receptacles.
   • Pick up litter inside and outside as needed.
2. Communication and Coordination
   • Assist company personnel and service providers when necessary.
   • Inform management about area activities and cleaning concerns.
3. Client Relations
   • Maintain courteous, professional interactions with clients and the public.
4. Additional Duties
   • Perform extra cleaning tasks as assigned.
   • Ensure facility security.

Performance Measurements

• Facilities are consistently clean, neat, and well-maintained.
• Cleaning tasks are completed safely and on schedule.
• Cleaning needs and issues are identified, addressed, and reported promptly.
• Positive coordination with other company operations.

Requirements

• Education: No formal education required; matric preferred.
• Knowledge: Basic cleaning techniques, safety, and OSHA guidelines.
• Experience: Prior cleaning/janitorial experience is advantageous.
• Skills: Detail-oriented, able to follow instructions, work independently, and work weekends and evenings as needed.
