Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining merchandising standards and supporting customer service at the point of sale, in line with Dis-Chem policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure product availability and proper presentation on shelves.
- Maintain stock freshness and manage restocking as needed.
- Follow up on out-of-stock queries and ensure timely resolution.
- Handle delivered stock and ensure proper storage and display.
- Maintain accurate pricing and manage price discrepancies.
- Keep the storeroom organized and tidy.
- Stay informed about new products to assist customers effectively.
- Perform customer transactions, including processing payments and loyalty cards.
- Manage stock control procedures and report low or damaged stock.
- Participate in stock counts and general stocktaking activities.
- Assist with loading and off-loading stock as needed.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with customers.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations and company policies.
Minimum Requirements
- Education: Grade 12 – Matric or Senior Certificate
- Experience: 0 – 6 months of retail work experience
- Additional:
- Knowledge of retail operations
- Basic arithmetic skills
- Effective verbal communication skills
- Ability to work retail hours
- South African citizenship
- No criminal record and clear credit rating
