Job Overview

The Agricultural Research Council (ARC) is seeking 10 casual workers to assist in various agricultural tasks. The position will involve grape flower emasculations, general work in tunnels, planting seedlings, and tending to plants. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in agricultural research and practical fieldwork.

Key Responsibilities

Grape Flower Emasculations: Primary task involves emasculating grape flowers in the vineyard.
General Work in Tunnels: Perform general maintenance and agricultural work inside tunnels.
Planting and Tending to Seedlings: Transplant seedlings from seed trays into plant bags and take care of plants inside tunnels.

Requirements

Steady Hands: Ability to handle delicate work, especially during grape flower emasculations.
Good Hand-Eye Coordination: Essential for tasks that require precision.
Preparedness to Work Outdoors: The main task is done in the vineyard; applicants must be comfortable working outside.
Previous Experience: Prior experience in similar agricultural or outdoor roles is advantageous.

Additional Information

Remuneration:
A competitive package will be offered, commensurate with the responsibilities and stature of the position.

Employment Conditions:

The appointment will be subject to a positive security clearance.
Preference will be given to designated groups in accordance with the ARC Employment Equity Plan.
