Preschool Assistant Teacher 2023

Linmeyer Daycare Centre is looking for an assistant teacher to join our team. We are based in Linmeyer, Johannesburg South, and our passion is to instill a love for education by using a structured approach to learning through play-based learning.

Age groups: • 3 – 4-year-old division We require a fun, loving, patient, and very creative individual who will share in this playful initiative of ours. The individuals must be extremely passionate about young children and you must have an understanding of the various developmental milestones of each age group. Please see the requirements set out below:

Requirements:

ECD NQF level 4 or higher or studying towards a childcare qualification

Working with children between the ages of 4 months and 5 years of age.

Have great written and verbal communication skills

Experience with preschool-aged children

High command of the English language

Clear criminal record

Reside close to the school

First Aid certification (preferred)

Vaccination certificate (preferred)

Responsibilities:

Assist in teaching and caring for all children in your class in a holistic; play-based manner, with awareness of each individual child and their needs.

Ensure a safe; hygienic and educational environment for the children at all times

Be flexible to work with children of different age groups

Work with your head teacher with a fine balance of taking initiative and direction

Work with a team and handle conflict in a mature; solution-based manner

Commit to continuous professional development

Partake enthusiastically in school events and the improvement and growth of the school
