Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC)
2-3 years experience in Pharmaceutical (including Student/Intern experience)
Computer literate – MS Office

Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide pharmaceutical care and be accountable for patients’ medicine-related needs.
Evaluate patient’s medicine-related needs for therapy indication, safety, and effectiveness.
Dispense medicine or scheduled substances based on prescriptions.
Sign off and check prescriptions prepared by assistants or interns.
Furnish information and advice on medicine use.
Determine patient compliance with therapy and conduct follow-ups.
Initiate pharmacist-initiated therapy.
Compound, manipulate, prepare, package, and supervise medication-related tasks.
Manage the purchasing, storing, and selling of medicines and scheduled substances.
Apply for medicine registration as per Medicines Act and Pharmacy Act.
Conduct pharmaceutical research and development.
Promote public health.
Accurately interpret and process scripts.
Provide correct instructions to patients regarding medicine use.
Keep updated with medical aid procedures and claim requirements.
Assist and advise patients at the dispensary, self-medication counter, and front-shop.
Follow up with patients regarding script tracking and appointments.
Explain medical aid costs to patients and process paperwork for medical aid claims.
Ensure authorization for chronic, HIV/AIDS, and oncology medication.
Maintain and manage customer profiles.
Support Dispensary Manager in administrative functions and stock control processes.
Ensure housekeeping adheres to Dis-Chem standards.
Comply with Health and Safety rules and regulations.
Adhere to Dis-Chem uniform and personal appearance policies.
