Location: Central Laundry Facility
Salary: R131,265 – R154,626 per annum (plus service benefits)

Job Overview

The Facility Management Directorate is seeking a Laundry Aid to assist in washing, drying, folding, and ironing linen and textiles in a Central Laundry setting.

Minimum Requirements

✔ Education: Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
✔ Experience: Prior laundry and linen experience in a hospital or central laundry facility.
✔ Physical Fitness: Must be capable of manual labor, including lifting, loading, and unloading laundry.

Key Responsibilities

✅ Wash, dry, fold, and iron linen, clothing, and other textiles.
✅ Assist with chemical mixing for laundry processing.
✅ Load and unload washing machines and tumble dryers.
✅ Sort, count, seal, and stack linen bags for dispatch.
✅ Maintain cleanliness in the laundry work area.

Work Conditions

✔ Requires standing for long periods and performing physical tasks.
✔ Work in a fast-paced, industrial laundry environment.

Skills & Competencies

✔ Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently.
✔ Understanding of proper linen handling and hygiene standards.
✔ Team player with good communication skills.
