Oudtshoorn Hospital is looking for a dedicated Messenger to join the team. This role is vital for ensuring the smooth running of hospital operations, supporting various departments through transportation of personnel and goods, and providing essential administrative support.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Messenger, you will be responsible for:

Mail Handling:
- Sort and distribute incoming and outgoing mail daily.
Patient Folder Management:
- Deliver and collect patient folders between various hospital departments.
- Record and track both current and archived patient folders in the Medical Records department.
Administrative Support:
- Assist with general administrative tasks as needed.
- Provide support to your supervisor in day-to-day operations.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualification:
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
Experience:
- Previous experience in the transportation of personnel and goods in a health facility setup is preferred.
Inherent Requirements:
- Valid Code B/EB driver’s license.
- Physical fitness to perform duties such as lifting and loading heavy items.
- Ability to work on standby and handle overtime, including after-hours, weekends, and public holidays.

Skills & Competencies:

Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and maintain a sober work habit.
Strong attention to detail in administrative tasks and record-keeping.
