Job Description:

Cashbuild is seeking a System Supervisor to manage and supervise all relevant Point of Sale (POS) transactions, ensuring total customer satisfaction. The role involves handling all Cash Office and banking processes, as well as related POS administrative functions.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education: Grade 12 plus 5 years of related experience or a minimum of 10 years of work-related experience.
  • Languages: Ability to communicate in English and the dominant language spoken in the geographical area.
  • Skills: Above-average numeric skills, proven ability to provide exceptional customer service, ability to work under pressure, computer literacy, and previous cashier experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service:

  • Ensure effective and efficient speed point transactions.
  • Assist customers with their needs through clear communication.
  • Handle requests, queries, and complaints, escalating to management when necessary.
  • Offer fast, friendly, and efficient service to all customers.
  • Control and ensure the availability of stationery and consumables within the store.

Cash Handling and Banking:

  • Control of store floats, change ordering, and dispensing.
  • Balance and record petty cash expenses and vouchers.
  • Process back office transactions and cashier cash-ups.
  • Ensure all returns are valid and processed correctly.
  • Ensure timely pickups and cash clearance.
  • Perform End of Day sessions on all POS terminals.
  • Daily cash up of all POS terminals.
  • Ensure CIT money collection with designated employee present.
  • Ensure daily takings are collected by the CIT company.

Ready for Business:

  • Implement Ready for Business processes.
  • Ensure Cashiers maintain their areas of responsibility.
  • Keep the Cash Office neat and tidy.
  • Maintain proper filing of all Cash Office documentation.

People Management:

  • Ensure Cashiers are present and available to assist customers.
  • Provide trained backup for Cashiers.
  • Monitor and evaluate subordinates’ performance.
  • Ensure scheduling of subordinates and compliance with the company dress code.
  • Conduct Product Knowledge training for Cashiers as per Store Manager agreement.

Safety (OHSA) Requirements:

  • Adhere to safety standards.

Security Awareness:

  • Be aware of suspicious activities in and outside the store.
  • Maintain password security.
  • Ensure the Cash Office is secure and the door is locked during pickups, cash-ups, and CIT collections.
  • Perform till pickups within set parameters.
  • Restrict unauthorized access to the Cash Office.
  • Keep safe keys locked away and in safe custody.
