Job Description:

Cashbuild is looking for a Cashier responsible for accurate handling of all Point of Sale (POS) transactions and documentation, ensuring customer satisfaction and preventing any unpaid goods from passing through the POS.

Minimum Requirements:

• Education: Grade 12 or a minimum of 1 year of work-related experience.
• Languages: Ability to communicate in English and the dominant language spoken in the geographical area.
• Skills: Ability to perform basic calculations accurately, strong administration skills.
• Other: Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays, ability to work under pressure.

Key Responsibilities:

Cash Handling:

• Ensure that all cash (including floats and petty cash) allocated to you balances.
• Correctly identify and capture goods on the Point-of-Sale Terminal.
• Capture the correct payment type received from customers on the POS Terminal.
• Always ensure you have sufficient change.
• Ensure accurate pickups within set parameters.
• Perform accurate cash-ups at the end of your shift.
• Drop all daily takings into the Drop Safe/Vault.
• Process transactions related to other stores’ money, deliveries, and quotes correctly.

Administration:

• Sign, compile, and file all related documentation related to the cashier’s function.

Ready for Business:

• Adhere to Ready for Business and Beyond my Control as per the CB Way.

Customer Service:

• Offer fast, friendly, and efficient service to all Cashbuild customers when checking in and out customers’ goods.
• Direct customers to relevant persons who can assist them.
• Comply with the company’s dress code.

Safety (OHSA) Requirements:

• Ensure compliance with OHSA requirements within the area of responsibility.
• Report any discrepancies to the Store Manager.

Security Awareness:

• Maintain system password control at the till point.
• Ensure safe keeping and transport of cash to the Cash Office as per Cashbuild Way requirements.
