Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking Casual Cashiers for their new store at Cosmo Mall. The role involves supporting customer service at the point of sale, ensuring a smooth shopping experience, and managing transactions with precision according to company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide excellent customer service following Dis-Chem’s policies.
Build and maintain professional relationships with customers.
Handle customer transactions accurately using Dis-Chem’s operating system.
Manage cash flow and ensure the security of cash and payment processes.
Be aware of current promotions and sales in the store.
Report customer feedback, including complaints and compliments.
Assist with processing payments via cash, bank cards, loyalty cards, and other methods.
Ensure all outgoing stock is scanned and paid for.
Monitor and follow company procedures regarding cash handling and security.

Essential Requirements:

Grade 12 / Matric.
A minimum of 6 months experience in cashier or till operations.
Computer literacy (MS Office).
Strong numerical skills and command of English.
Basic customer service skills.
Willingness to work retail hours.

Competencies:

Proficiency in operating cash registers and maintaining cash drawers.
Accuracy and attention to detail.
Emotional intelligence and social awareness.
Problem-solving skills and time management.
Ability to read and analyse basic reports.

Advantageous:

Ability to speak a third additional language.

Special Conditions of Employment:

Willing to work retail hours.
Must have reliable transport or live near the store.
Clear credit and criminal records.
Must be a South African citizen.
