The Small Enterprise Finance Agency (SEFA) is committed to supporting and empowering entrepreneurs operating in township and rural areas by offering tailored funding opportunities. If you are involved in any of the following types of businesses, you may be eligible for financial assistance from SEFA:

  • Spaza Shop Owners
  • Clothing, Leather, and Textile Businesses
  • Bakeries and Confectioneries
  • Shisanyama and Cooked Foods Establishments

Funding Package Details

SEFA provides a funding package totaling R350,000, which is divided as follows:

  • R300,000 for Equipment: This portion is allocated for the acquisition or upgrade of necessary business equipment.
  • R50,000 Working Capital (Grant): This is provided as a grant to cover day-to-day operational expenses.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for SEFA’s funding program, entrepreneurs must meet the following criteria:

  • Operational Period: The business should have been operational for at least 6 months.
  • Location: The business must be located in a township or rural area.
